Hey - I’m Andrei!

I'm an engineer with a love for all things Open Source, EVs, Drones and Photography. I'm always looking to learn new things and share my enthusiasm with others.

By day I am responsible for the Processors Platform Hardware & Community at Texas Instruments, which means I get to work with great partners to enable new uses for existing and upcoming tech within the high performance ARM & RISC computing group and also do a good measure of open source software, hardware and standards evangelism along the way.

By night, I'm a dog dad to a couple of very naughty Dachshunds,  a contributor to BeagleBoard.org, and when I get the courage/willpower a poster of tutorials on YouTube and various other platforms so I can justify my photography/videography gear 'addiction'.

Maybe you recognize me from somewhere?

Maybe you've referenced the BeagleY-AI Pinout Tool  or looked at some of the revamped documentation on BeagleBoard.org featuring my hand modeling in GIFs and instructions on using NVMe drives for booting and more.

You could have run into one of my written articles in places like Hackster.io where I show how BeaglePlay makes for a wonderful self-contained home automation gateway with built-in Zigbee radio functionality in one low cost little board.

Perhaps you've come across my EEV Blog quoting converted See n'Say toy. Shout out to Hackaday and Hackster.io for featuring it! Also shout out to Mr. Dave Jones himself being a good sport in the comments of the Hackaday article.

Or maybe you've used some of my 3D printable designs on  Printables or Thingiverse - if not you should check it out. There's some fun SbC cases and accessories in there... and probably more by now since you are reading this in the futureeee.

You could have watched one of my YouTube videos, I try to share fun projects I'm working on and fill knowledge gaps when I don't see a good existing tutorial online here and there - usually programming, Linux or hardware related. And the occasional random silly upload.

While I don't think of myself as a proper developer, there's a non-zero chance you've run across some of my contributions. The most surprising one was an Intel Cherry Trail kernel patch and script to fix audio codec issues... more recently you might have used some upstream linux sensors with patches from me or maybe flashed an MSP M0 MCU on Pocket Beagle 2 using my I2C flasher.

I would be extra-flattered if you somehow figured out I'm behind some TI documentation like the Sitara EVM User Guide boot mode switch explainers or perhaps updates to sections of TRM and Datasheets for more or less obscure but very useful peripherals like PRU-ICSS.

It's also not impossible that I might have answered your questions either on the TI E2E Support forums or the BeagleBoard.org forum, or maybe the Discord!

Lastly, you might have met me in person at a Hackathon, Conference or some other industry event. I try to travel as much as possible and meet with other passionate members of the community. Wether it's serious events like Electronica,  Embedded World,  EOSS, or more silly and community driven ones like Open Sauce, Maker Faire and Open Hardware Summit, there's a good chance I'm planning to be there.
